We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours per week).
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual with a keen eye for detail to contribute to our well-established and supportive Pharmacy team. Our busy and friendly department provides a vital service to wards and patients across Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, and Community Health settings.
You will play an important role in delivering high-quality medicines management, supporting safe and effective patient care, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties and Responsibilities)
We are looking for a proactive and organised Pharmacy Technician with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and good IT competence. You will work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt within a busy service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Dispensing inpatient, outpatient, clinical trial, and controlled drug prescriptions in line with standard operating procedures
- Using pharmacy systems to generate labels and manage stock issues, receipts, and transfers
- Supporting medicines management services, including medicines reconciliation, patient drug histories, and assessing suitability of patients’ own medicines
- Participating in the clozapine service
- Undertaking accuracy checking within a technician-led dispensary
- Supporting patient counselling and promoting medicines adherence
- Assisting wards with the Trust’s ePrescribing system
- Contributing to the smooth running of dispensary workflow, resolving queries and escalating where appropriate
The role requires flexibility to work contracted hours Monday to Friday, with participation in a rotational weekend and bank holiday service.
