We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Assistant to join our team within the Memory Service.

The Memory Service is a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing support for people experiencing memory difficulties, including dementia. The service works closely with patients, carers, and partner agencies across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, delivering compassionate, person‑centred care.

As a Business Assistant, you will provide a comprehensive administrative service to support the clinical team.

This is a rewarding role within a supportive team, working closely with individuals and families at a crucial point in their care journey.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, organised, enthusiastic, and a strong team player, with a clear commitment to the Trust’s values. You will have:

  • Excellent IT skills, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to liaise with service users and carers in a calm, respectful, and compassionate manner
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Relevant administrative experience, preferably within a healthcare setting

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

As a Business Assistant, you will be required to be point of contact for patients, carers and other agencies, action clinic letters for the clinical team, managing referrals and waiting lists, circulating documentation including identifying actions ensuring they are logged, prioritised, and are followed up.

You will support the processing of complex patient referrals which involves collating information from various internal/external agencies.

You will support in minute taking and outcomes from MDT meetings for patients and work collaboratively with the other services across DMH.

You will support with patient related tasks including producing clinic letters and arranging appointments.

You will undertake diary management for yourself and others and you will communicate effectively via email, including implementing a flagging/prioritisation system.

You will be creating and formatting professional communications, such as letters, minutes, reports and briefings to a high standard.
