Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to for a bank Band 7, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic community dysphagia team on a bank basis for up to 15 hours per week.

The successful applicant will have a breadth of specialist knowledge and experience in the highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention approaches for complex dysphagia presentation in children and babies.

Please note that for this role you will need a full UK driving license and access to a car during working hours.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

The post holder will be provide highly specialist leadership in dysphagia on behalf of the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service;

  • Provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention approaches for a complex caseload of children and young people with identified needs in dysphagia.
  • Be responsible for leading service improvement and quality assurance of practice in dysphagia, providing supervision and training to staff.
  • Participate as an active member of the Speech and Language Therapy Service extended leadership team, being responsible for service development and improvement in areas of dysphagia, based on the current evidence base, service plans and divisional/trust strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrating a high level of knowledge and understanding of the national and local strategic context and their relationship with Speech and Language Therapy service delivery.
